Role of Public Cord Blood Banks

The AFCBB believes that both public and private cord blood banks have an important role in shaping the future of treating chronic disease. Not every parent has or will choose to privately bank their child's cord blood. In the interest of public health, the AFCBB supports a robust system of both public and private cord blood banks so that everyone who could benefit from a stem cell transplant will have that option.
